What a good little find! Having walked la coulée verte, we walked back to the west of Nation and found this little place for a quick lunch...a plate of mixed charcuterie and cheese and a quiche...washed down with 50cls of what turned out to be a very nice Chinon...
Great friendly service by a chap from Laval who knew the area I've spent a lot of time in, Le Mans to Bazouges sur le loir...we stared talking because I asked if the rillettes du Mans were really that...and they were! They and the cheeses were excellent
Finally a pear tart and double espresso...50€ the lot and so friendly
A great late lunch, very nice...sorry about the poor photo but it was good food!
For those who don't really know the area it's 50 yards or so away from the Paul Bert restaurants in the street opposite -

Was hoping for a nice sit down dinner with family before boarding train to London. Went into this restaurant without looking at previous Yelp reviews becos there was a very friendly staff outside talking in English and welcoming us in. However the food here was terrible- We ordered French onion soup but it was almost like plain hot water ! No onion and the croutons were so soggy ! I can make better soup than this at home !!!
The nutella crepes were dry and tasteless. The 3 cheese pasta had also no flavor and we tried to salvage it with lots of salt and pepper.
The menu was overpriced and the wait time was too long. This is a tourist trap and I would
not recommend this place to anyone. There is better food inside the train station. -

I picked this cafe because it was close to my hotel, and the outdoor seats were bathed in late afternoon sun, with a nice view of the little plaza there, and all the Parisians on their way home from work. If you're in this neighborhood and looking for a nice place to sit and maybe have a drink, this isn't bad at all.
However, the food was pretty mediocre, which is always a disappointment when you're on vacation in a city with amazing food that you could be eating if only you'd known where to go. Also, it was really quite expensive for the neighborhood. If you're looking for a nice, simple meal in Paris, you can do much, much better.
